How to use this research planner

Research priority planner

Reorder unlock focus for your next research spend. Drag is not required — use the priority buttons.

  1. Showers / hygiene basics
  2. Food stalls & toppings
  3. Trash capacity & cleaning tools
  4. Hiring level / staff slots
  5. Repair & build speed
  6. New slide / pool unlocks
  7. Décor & theme packs
  8. Security / late-game systems

The interactive planner on this page is an unlock-order board for the office Research Table. Mark your current star tier, tick unlocks you already own, and follow the next recommended buys. Exact point costs can shift with patches; the order is what stays valuable. For earning methods—science icons, tickets, mop XP, staff penalties—read Research Points beside this tool.

After CayPlay’s 1.0 launch on July 31, 2026, research still gates tools, hiring tiers, comfort buildings, and later spectacle. Diamond prestige, Beach map walks, custom slides, security, mascots, and Ocean / Aztec / Pirate themes all feel unfair if you spend early points on décor comfort while still hand-selling every ticket.

Point income habits the planner assumes

  • Grab floating science icons on every cross-park run
  • Sell honest tickets (age + slide pass) for the research drip
  • Mop and repair personally when you need a specific unlock quickly
  • Accept reduced staff research payouts as the price of sanity later
  • Avoid water-gun cleaning when you still need mop-based point chunks
  • Assign a co-op “research captain” so four players do not buy uncoordinated comfort items

Stage 1 — Survive the first park days

Buy in this order when available:

  1. Floor Tool — faster pads and paths when objectives demand builds
  2. Modern / upgraded trash bins — less litter travel, easier cleanliness quests
  3. Pocket / inventory expansions — carry mop, bags, life ring, and glove without constant swaps
  4. Hiring Level 1 (Ticket Agent) — frees you after the morning spike
  5. Basic comfort unlocks (toilets / showers as gated) — only when guest-need tasks block stars

Do not empty the point bank on a second food stall skin before bins and pockets exist. Stabilize with Getting Started and Cleaning Loop while this stage completes.

Stage 2 — Remove repeated interruptions

  1. Quick Dry / deeper puddle tech when decks outrun your mop route
  2. Hiring tiers for vendors when food stands punish every gate break
  3. Cleaner hire unlocks when mess steals whole build sessions
  4. Restocker / supply quality-of-life when walks dominate afternoons
  5. Repair role unlocks before multiple attractions can fail together
  6. Rescue gear upgrades as slide landings get busier

Cross-check payroll readiness on the Staff Planner before unlocking a hire you cannot fund. Research that unlocks a badge is not free—it is a wage promise.

Stage 3 — Capacity for Beach and custom slides

  1. Staff slot or pathing helpers that shorten Beach map distances
  2. Slide-related tools that make Custom Slides safer to iterate
  3. Cleaning power upgrades that multiply every cleaner minute (Upgrades Priority)
  4. Comfort and queue tech that supports denser prestige courtyards
  5. Security unlock path when troublemakers outgrow glove duty
  6. Mascot unlock path only after Star Checklist ops rows are green

Theme identity (Ocean / Aztec / Pirate) is progression flavor. Unlock theme rows when quests or diamond tasks ask—not as a substitute for Floor Tool era basics you somehow skipped.

Stage 4 — Diamond and night overtime planning

  1. Confirm star gates on greyed Research Table rows via Stars and Diamond Rating
  2. Spend into the unlock that clears the visible diamond objective blocker
  3. Prefer ops multipliers (clean, repair, rescue, staff slots) over vanity
  4. If using night overtime, unlock enough coverage tech that dark hours are not solo panic (Night Mode and Weather)
  5. Keep a small point reserve only when the next star is hours away and the current unlock is cosmetic

Night mode extends chore time; it does not replace research. Overtime wages can erase the cash you need to use the hire you just unlocked.

Co-op spending etiquette

In 2–4 player lobbies:

  • One player opens the Research Table
  • Others call bottlenecks in plain words: “bins,” “pockets,” “cleaner,” “repair”
  • Manual point farming can be assigned to the chore-loving player while builders place pads
  • Never unlock four parallel comfort items in one argument—see Multiplayer Co-op

Anti-priority list (usually wait)

  • Decorative comfort that does not shorten a measured chore
  • Extra vendor unlocks before you can restock the first stand
  • Mascot branches while cleanliness is red
  • Theme showcase unlocks while ticket fraud still walks free
  • Anything greyed by star requirements—advance prestige first, do not assume a bug

Daily planner workflow

  1. Note yesterday’s pain: gate, litter, pockets, food, rescue, repair, or chaos
  2. Farm points with tickets + icons + one manual chore loop
  3. Open the planner stage that matches your prestige
  4. Buy the first unticked item that kills that pain
  5. Re-test for one open day before expanding Beach shoreline
  6. Re-run staff and star tools so unlocks translate into coverage

Return to the Tools Hub when you need the full planner set. Research wins are boring on purpose: honest tickets, grabbed icons, and unlocks that buy back the minutes you would have spent mopping instead of building.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers to the most common questions.

What should I unlock first?

Time savers such as the Floor Tool, upgraded trash bins, extra pocket space, and Hiring Level 1 for a Ticket Agent are strong Stage 1 buys.

Why is an upgrade greyed out when I have points?

Many Research Table rows need a minimum star or prestige level. Advance the objective list, then return to the planner.

Should I save points for diamond unlocks?

Only briefly. Hoarding while you suffer chores the next unlock would remove is usually worse than spending on today’s bottleneck.

Do staff chores fill the planner faster?

Staff still grant research, but usually less than manual work. Farm personally when you need a specific Stage unlock quickly.

Who should spend points in co-op?

Pick one research captain. Uncoordinated comfort buys waste the shared point pool in 2–4 player sessions.

When do theme and mascot unlocks make sense?

After ops multipliers and hire tiers are in place—or when a star or diamond quest explicitly requires them.
